In the spring of 1977, two brothers, John and Ralph Morra, moved their young families from Toronto to Barrie. They settled in modest bungalows in Barrie's north end. Their dream was to raise their children and build a carpentry business in a city that offered a beautiful waterfront and friendly neighbourhoods. Morra Bros. Contracting Limited (Morra Homes) was incorporated in the early 1980's. With their carpentry skills and determination to succeed, John and Raph selectively and instinctively hired skilled trades people, most of whom are still with the company. Morra Homes built the company's first house in 1983, a two storey centre hall plan later bought by a prominent family. As ambition and pride in their accomplishements guided the brothers to carry on, the growth of the company demanded additional staff. Angela Morra became part of the Morra Homes team, starting in accounting and overseeing all office duties. Sons, Louie Michael and Luigi took active roles at the supervisory levels of construction. With over a thousand homes to their credit, the Morra's have created a business known for its quality, workmanship, attention to detail and high level of customer satisfaction. The Morra Homes contruction, sales, and pre-delivery teams have dedicated people that are proud to say it's "Morra built." |

Morra Homes has always felt strongly about the
well being of children. The company has fostered youth development
at the elementary and secondary school levels by contributing to
numerous programs and awards. Over the years, John, Angela, Ralph, Filomena and their famillies have seen much growth in the city they now call home. Through it all, Barrie has not lost it's beauty, charm or warmth. Within this city, Morra Homes has built many neighbourhoods and will always walk through them proudly.
